Sharon Yvonne Stone is the sole child of Dorothy Lawson (an accountant) and Joseph William Stone II, who was a manufacturer of tool and dies, as well as a former worker in a factory. Her birth date was the 10th of March, 1958, in Meadville Pennsylvania. Michael, Kelly and Patrick are three of her siblings. Stone was considered academically gifted when she was a kid and started in second grade at the age of five. She was a graduate of Saegertown High School in Saegertown, Pennsylvania, in 1975. She also competed winning at the Miss Pennsylvania beauty contest. Stone together with her aunt, in 1977 moved to New Jersey for a modeling job. Stone signed with Ford Modeling Agency a week after. While in Europe Stone was able to spend a whole year in Milano and Paris. However, Stone became disillusioned with the world of modeling and modeling in Europe and decided to take up acting in Europe while she was there. Stone was a 20-year-old in Woody Allen's "Stardust Memories" the film which got mixed reviews.
